"I am one of those people who hate sending a horse away for training. I am a control freak and worry about them whilst they are away from home. But at last I have found, in Patty, a trainer I trust 110% to care for my horse well and give them a wonderful foundation.
Because my horses are "my babies", before I even consider quality of training I need to know that my horse is being handled with respect and kindness, being fed well and receiving the turnout I request. In this Patty and her wonderful team excel. Every time I visit, the first thing I look for is the expression in my horse's eye. Is he happy? Comfortable? I can certainly say that the horses seem to adore Patty! This tells me a great deal.
Then I need to know that my tiny "training budget" is not being wasted. Patty and her team put a broad foundation on the horses second to none. She brings them along carefully and at exactly the right pace for each horse. I especially like that she won't push a horse past his comfort zone just to meet some imaginary deadline. She'll go as fast as the horse needs and no more. Whilst she's never said so to me I would imagine her motto would be "horse first". That's certainly the impression I get. Also important to me, she treats me with respect and never laughs at my suggestions, even though she has forgotten more than I will ever know! Patty never "talks down" to you as many trainers do.
Patty also has access to a wonderful farrier and great vets. So from all angles my horses are getting the best of care, quality, knowledgeable handling and top class training. All at affordable prices. I would send my horses nowhere else now. It gives me great peace of mind to be able to drive away from her farm without a backward glance, knowing my horses will be safe in Patty's care and getting great training too."
